A major challenge for any new home based business is finding out where your interested visitors are going go come from. The fact is that there are several free methods to generate targeted traffic. However, most new internet marketers are not privy to this information. Often times this leads to the unnecessary allocation of monetary resources to expensive advertisements which do not offer a good return on the investment. These struggles are why so many home based business owners call it quits way too early.

The good new is that if you can consistently get visitors to your website, who are interested in your product or service, you are in excellent shape. However, this is the number one challenge which every home based business owner is faced with at one time or the other. If you are up for the challenge, you will get the traffic that you need, and make sales. When you make sales, you accomplish the objective of your business, and that is to make a profit. It is as simple as that.

On a positive note, there are an abundance of methods which you can utilize to steer targeted visitors to your website. With that being said, these methods take time and effort. For instance, you might have heard of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) at one time or the other. This is a method by which you take steps to enable your website to rank prominently in the search engines. Sounds pretty good, right? The only problem is that it takes time. Some home based business owners may be more than willing to put forth the effort, but do not have the 6 to 12 months to wait for targeted traffic so that their home based business can become successful. If this sounds like you, there are a few solutions which we will discuss below.

For starters, I am going to begin with what I view as the number one solution. I rate this solution as number one because it serves a dual purpose. First, it enables you to direct targeted traffic to your website immediately. Secondly, it is a key strategy in enabling your website to rank prominently in the search engines. This strategy is what is know as article marketing. Essentially, article marketing involves composing articles which contain valuable information for your target market, the submitting these articles to several article directories and niche blogs. The reason why you will receive instant targeted traffic to your website, is because the article directories receive a high volume of traffic. Each article that you submit to the directories will include a link back to your website. Thus, readers will click this link to be taken to your website. As you may know, the search engines rank websites in large part because of the number of links which point to the website. Each article contains a new link to your website, giving it link value in the search engines.

Similar to article marketing, social media marketing provides some key benefits. Social media marketing involves submitting pages from your website to Web 2.0 sites such as, Twitter, MySpace, Propeller, Google Bookmarks, Mister Wong, Delicious, Reddit, etc. Such action not only drives targeted traffic to your website, but also works to brand you as an expert in your niche, as well as providing valuable back links to your website. Just make sure that when you do bookmark pages to your website, that each page contains unique, relevant, and valuable information for your niche market.

As you can see, when it comes to steering targeted traffic to your home based business, you have some options. However, do not just go after traffic in general. Go after the traffic which comes from the niche market which your home based business caters to. In order to do this, it is essential that you identify your niche market from the very beginning. Once you have done so, show them how the products or services which you offer will solve their problems.

The statute that governs the registration of an Alberta sole proprietorship is the Partnership Act (Alberta). The statute refers to an Alberta sole proprietorship as an Alberta trade name.

The statutes indicates that an individual who (a) is engaged in business for trading, manufacturing, contracting or mining purposes; and (2) is not associated in partnership with any other person or persons and uses as the person’s business name some name or designation other than the person’s own, or the person’s own name with the addition of “and company” or some other word or phrase indicating a plurality of members in a firm; shall file with the Alberta Registrar a declaration in writing of the fact. If you are planning on registering a sole proprietorship it would be appropriate for you to take a look at the Alberta Partnership Act provisions for Alberta sole proprietorships.

In other words, if a person is carrying on business under a name other than his or her own name, you must register a Declaration of Trade Name in order to be in compliance with the laws of Alberta. The Alberta registration must be registered within six months of carrying on business.

If you decide to register an Alberta trade name you should be aware that an Alberta Nuans name search is not required. It is not a requirement of the statute that the name you chose for your Alberta trade name be unique. The Alberta government will accept a registration of a name that is exactly the same as another name registered as a sole proprietorship in Alberta. If you are going to register a trade name and you realize that there is another name registered which is exactly the same, you should not register the same name unless you have a connection with that business or have received consent in writing to the use of the name.

The best way to ensure this is to do a preliminary name search Alberta Registration Name before you register your sole proprietorship. A search house can perform this for you. Some search houses charge a small fee for this and others will do this for free when you purchase a sole proprietorship registration service from them.

Is it a requirement to register an Alberta trade name in order to conduct business as a sole proprietorship. No. However if you work under your personal name there may be situations where an Alberta registration would be advantageous as proof that you are in business. You may be required to show a valid registration when you register for other licenses connected to your business or when business proposals are set forth. The Alberta government will not allow you to register an Alberta trade name using your own name. You will need to register an actual business name. On another note, you can obtain a Business Number for your sole proprietorship even if you are operating under your personal name. Business Numbers (GST) are connected to the individual not to the Alberta sole proprietorship registration.

It will not be possible for you to register your Alberta sole proprietorship by doing on your own. You must use a service provider to assist you. If you chose the right service provider it will do a preliminary name search on your name for free before they register your name and will ensure it is available and clear right across Canada.

In order to terminate your Alberta registration it will be necessary to file a Declaration of Ceasing to Carry on Business under a Trade Name.

When you register an Alberta Trade name it will be registered forever unless you chose to terminate it.
