Tips for Getting Started with E-mail Marketing
There is a saying among internet marketers that says, “the money is in the list,” and there is a lot of truth in that statement. Smart marketers build a large list of subscribers that want to learn more about the topic of the marketers niche; this gives the marketer a chance to build a relationship with the subscriber and pitch products to them in the process. Knowing that e-mail marketing is a good way to sell things is one thing. Actually building a list to sell things to is quite another. Now all you need is to know the how part of building a list? How can you encourage people to trust you with their emails? Following, are the steps to building a large base of subscribers.
Collect e-mails from the people who buy your products and services. When a buyer purchases a product make it necessary for them to have to enter a valid email address before your product is allowed to be delivered to them. This is a very old technique that has been around long before the internet was ever thought of. This is no different than the cashier asking you for your email address when you purchase something from your favorite store. That is basic list building at its finest!
Publish a newsletter. People want to feel they are getting something free if they are going to sign up for a list. The best free item to offer is a regular newsletter. Make sure that your newsletter has some quality content; it should also offer something beyond what people can find on your blog or website.
Some successful newsletter publishers are able to charge a subscription fee for their newsletter, but you should only do this when it becomes popular, not right away. Make sure, though, that you make it clear that in addition to the newsletter you might sometimes also send out promotional e-mails to the people on your subscription list.
Try not to mail your list too much in a short period. Too many emails feel like spam, and they’ll grow to resent your presence in their inbox, and you know what that means. Send your emails at an appropriate interval, and if you provide excellent content people will tend to start listening and buying. You’ll develop a good reputation which will attract more people to you.
E-mail marketing is a great way to increase your profits. You are selling directly to people who have signed up to be offered your products and services. If you have ever dreamed of a way to make a large amount of money online without working twelve hours everyday then email marketing is how to make it happen.
And with the right knowledge this isn’t difficult. There are many ways to build your list, some are common and still have good results but others will take a little bit of creativity. Remember,your list can bring you a lot of money so don’t be fearful to put an idea to use that you think will increase your list size.
