People don’t care if your product is the best at this or that. It’s important that you keep your self-importance out of all of your communications. What you should do instead is to try and show them the benefits of the product and tell them what it can do for them. You have to be clear on listing out these benefits so that your prospect knows what to expect. You could invent a revolutionary new product, but if the prospect thinks he won’t benefit, you’re wasting your time. The reason you made a profile on Twitter in the first place was to expand your business by increasing your sales numbers, contacts and your profit. Always treat your followers as you would want to be treated. Remember, Twitter is a thriving community where people value people, which leads to better relationships. You should approach it as you’re one of them, and you’re just recommending this product instead of coming off like a salesperson. It’s best not to just go on and on about the product and how great it is, and instead you should just talk about it like you’re just part of the crowd bringing it up. It’s best not to just blast your followers with promotion links. You can’t just mention a product, and instead you need to proceed slowly. You can effectively do this by offering up some advice that doesn’t cost anything, and then hit them with the promotional offer. For example, if you’re selling an ebook on “avoiding acne”, then go ahead and share a few tweets that actually talk about this problem and why it’s important to cure. A good way to do this is to let them know that there are other things they can try, but that these things are ineffective and useless. You must let them know that your product is the very best out there and you must also convince them that it’s an urgent matter. It’s all about telling them how your product can prove to be helpful, but if you just give them the link to it in the first time itself, they wouldn’t trust it, since it would look like a sales pitch. You don’t want to come off like you’re trying to sell them something, and instead you’ll want to appear as though you’re really concerned and you want to help them with the issue they’re having.

If you’re too stuffy, you’re not going to do well on Twitter. If you really want to get to know people, you’ll have to approach them as you would someone on the street and just be informal. This shouldn’t be difficult as there are many ways to meet people on Twitter. You are able to give people what they need to succeed, ask questions of them, and you can just become one of the crowd.

You can make it in this business, and with Twitter if you just take things slowly and you avoid the mistakes you just read about.
