Different methods to get visitors to your website
The most important part of of having a site is getting traffic to your web site. Without visitors even the best site is not worth much.So what’s the ideal way to get people to your website? There are pretty much only 2 types of traffic. Paid & Free. So what does that mean? You can either buy visitors or you can get free traffic to your site.
If you decide to buy traffic to get people to your web site, you can use services like Adwords and models called Pay Per Click (PPC). So,what happens here is that you tell Microsoft, for example, how much you can pay for each person. And depending on the amount of competition you might end up payng a lot or a little per person. From a nickel or so per visitor to several dollars per click So obviously it can add up quick. Still people do it beacuse it’s easy, constant and predictable traffic. Using PPC does get people to your site.
Another example of a technique is the pay per impression. With this technique you pay per volume, you purchase a certain number of impressions typically measured in CPM – Cost Per Thousand. And there are various ad networks out there that you can join and upload your banners and hopefully get a lot of traffic for the determined number of impressions. In this approach you might get a ton of people or none at all.
A really important thing about buying traffic is that you really want to test the results and keep an eye on the process, otherwise you might just be squandering your money.
Now, another option when it comes to getting visitors to your site is getting Free traffic. Free web traffic can come from the search engines which requires SEO know-how. People can also come from other websites. Linking between sites is a helpful way of getting traffic. Several other ways of getting free traffic include writing articles and submitting them article directories, like ezine articles.
