A Sober Life

There are a million different reasons for a break up and only one real result: heart break. If you have developed strong feelings for your partner, then a break up is one of the toughest times to go through, but you can do it and come out the other side. If you feel depressed and down, then you need to know how to survive a breakup and believe me, as tough as it can be you can do it!

One of the first things to do is to allow yourself to feel the pain, but realize that it is a temporary state. Sure, eat too much ice-cream and stay in your pajamas for a couple of days, but don’t let the depression drag you under. If you see the emotions that you have as part of your natural healing process, then you already have power over them. The hurt and sadness will disappear in time.

The next thing to do is call on your friends for help. You need a support network to help you through tough times and your friends will be more than happy to help you through a tough time. It might involve too many mojitos, shopping trips, movie nights watching chick flicks or any other activity, but they will help you out no end.

Getting your feelings out is also another step that you need to take in order to heal. One way to do this is to write a long letter rampaging as much as you like, telling the ex how awful and horrible they are and getting the last word in any way that you like. The catch is that you don’t send it. No matter how tempted you are don’t send it! Rip it up or burn it and enjoy the feeling of liberation of having externalized some of your pain.

All the energy that you are expending reliving the relationship and having negative feelings for your ex you should redirect towards a positive energy. Use your time to get a new hobby or past time. Try out some new classes or join some kind of club. Learn a foreign language, take a dance class, join some art classes or anything else that interests you and you have never done before.

Exercise is a very good idea as not only do you become a whole lot hotter all of a sudden, it also releases endorphins, which are happy hormones. These will help to improve your take on life and help drag you out of the doldrums. Suddenly looking awesome in a pair of hotpants though does go an awfully long way to restoring your happiness.

Okay, now let’s get serious for a second. Do not contact your ex. This is really important, so we will repeat it again: do not contact your ex! Cut off all contact as this will only drag out the pain and make you miserable as well as making you look desperate, which is never a good look.

Over time it might be doable to become friends, or even just friendly and you might even make up and move on with the relationship. But you need to let there be time to calm down and get some perspective. How to survive a breakup involves equal measures of self love and discipline with the knowledge that you can get over it and come out ahead.

If you need a game plan for “how to get my ex back, ” you should be smart and look at your own behavior first. There are the tools available on the Internet to find the tips and techniques that will help you isolate the causes for the breakup and you can learn how to get your ex back.
