Drug abuse intervention is something many people may have to face at some point in their life. This is true because drug addiction clouds an addict’s perception, which means an addict cannot see how drugs are affecting their life or how their life is in danger.

Teen drug abuse can definitely make things unpleasant in the home. With an uptick in drug use among youth in high school, chances are more likely than ever that you will find your teenager addicted to drugs. There is the tremendous impact that peer pressure brings, and on top of that its very likely your teen’s favorite music stars are honest about their drug use too. With all these factors in play, it is no surprise that more and more families are enduring with this problem.

Families who have mentally ill relatives whose problems are compounded by substance abuse face problems of enormous proportions. Mental health services are not well prepared to deal with patients having both afflictions.

There is a staggering epidemic in today’s society and that is the use of oxycontin amongst our teenagers and young people. It can be argued that such a perilous drug has never been so mainstream and popular amongst teens. Addiction to oxycontin is the cause of exceedingly shocking deeds, physical reliance and even death. When your teen is addicted to oxycontin, roxycontin or any substance that can be considered an opiate, you are in a desperate state of affairs and a teen intervention should be on your mind.
