It’s no secret that kids are creative because they want to explore and create things they can think of. They can express without fear or shame. We always wanted our child to express and develop their talents. This Independence Day, create ideas and help your kid create a homemade craft for the occasion.
I have created a list of great homemade gift ideas to help you choose the best for your kid. I understand that coming up with fun, easy and economical homemade craft is not easy. Select the best craft suitable for your kid, as an adult it is your responsibility to make sure that the appropriate craft is selected and that it will be safe.
Star-spangled Bike – Help your kid bring out the best of their bike. Cut out stars and help them decorate their ride with American flag colors. Add up some life to their bike by adding bells and colors on the wheels. Your child will surely ask you to attend a community parade so he can show his bike to everyone.
Homemade American Flag Fan – Have a small fanfare and ask kids to design their own patriotic flags. They may use the American flag as a model. Then wave flags and fans to commemorate the freedom of the country. These steps are easy, just cut out rectangles out of paper, design according to will and combine them using a pin.
The Crown of Freedom – Make your child smile by helping them make a crown that resembles the colors of the independence and the style of the crown of liberty. Use straws, garlands, pompoms and duct tapes. Ask your child to wear it and take a photo of him as a souvenir or have it framed.
Confetti Launcher – If you’re good in physics, create a launcher for confetti’s. Help your child cut out stars to be used as confetti in different sizes and colors. Load the launcher and ask your kid to fire. You’ll definitely be considered a hero for making Independence Day the best day. You’ll have instant fireworks effect in seconds.
Battery Operated Fireworks – Since kids cannot light fireworks, you may create a safe and effective craft to replace fireworks. Why not create a battery operated fireworks sparkler device? It may sound a bit technical but this is just easy. Buy some wired garlands with star design, attached the wires to a battery. Combine at least 15 garlands together and make sure it is panning out to create a fireworks effect. Fasten the end to a big pen or stick and place a little button switch to save the battery. Now you have an instant fireworks display for your kids to play all day.
Stars and Stripes Hat – Help you child create a patriotic hat that resemble Uncle Sam’s hat. Use cardboard and paper bag as the hat. Stick colored papers to create stripes of blue, red and white. Cut out small stars and glue them on the base of the hat. You’ll have great looking hats and the kids will be ready for the parade.
Patriotic Robot - Who does not love robots? I guess everyone did at least once in their lives. As a child we really want to have our own robot and so this Independence Day why not give your child a patriotic robot? A robot that is made of materials we commonly see, cans, jar and utensils. Just attach the jar in two cans so he’ll have legs, add another can on the other side so that he’ll have a head and attach sticks as a hand or if you don’t have sticks a rolled paper may do. The jar may be used to store cookies of candies.
